“There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.:- Galatians 3:28
One of the most awesome things in world, I believe, is the fact that we all are different. We have different cultures, since of fashion, taste for food, attractions, disappointments, standards, goals, dreams, desires, and even ways of execution. There is no denying our differences, especially when we all come from different parts of the world thus causing different experiences.
These differences should be celebrated, rather than put to shame and discriminated against. God has purposed differences in people just like the differences in climates from continent to continent. The climate and terrain in one country allows its to produce a product that is needed in another country.
The goal should be to share. What u have is needed as much as what I have is needed. The celebration comes when we can bring all of our differences together and share and learn from each other. The only way we can come together is through love. We experience this love in Christ. That’s what makes us one. That is our commonality – the love in we find in Christ.
The greatest commandment taught by Jesus Christ is love; ‘love your God with all your heart, mind & strength and love your neighbor as you love yourself’. Wow! What a commandment! Its not like the 10 ‘thou shall nots’. Instead, This tell us what we can do and it involves others. Quite naturally our neighbor will be a little different from us, but we must still love them. Once we learn to do this in excellence then we become ‘one in Christ’. There will not be any more differences, just something I don’t have that you are now sharing with me.
